The Gasthof Sternen is located in the center of Wangen near Dübendorf, an idyllic farming village in the canton of Zurich. The stately building impresses by its history alone. Its oldest parts date back to the 16th century. This gives it an authentic charm, in keeping with the image of a traditional village economy.

The rustic wooden panelling, the creaking oak floor and the imposing walnut tables make up the character of the cosy restaurant. The Fine Dining Restaurant Badstube also has a very special ambience. The restored old vaulting contrasts with a large glass façade, which generously refreshes the room with daylight.

This historical setting promises a short journey into the past and unforgettable culinary experiences. You will enjoy dishes composed mainly of regional products, with a focus on freshness and the colors of the season. Chef Matthias Brunner draws inspiration from his everyday life: for example, a good meal at a colleague’s, a tour of the market, a photograph, a visit to his gardener, a recipe book… “The important thing is that you don’t just re-cook a dish, but rather give it your own signature. This is how Matthias brings out the character of each ingredient, which he processes with passion and great care. And always with the greatest respect for the product, in order to offer his guests a cultivated top cuisine.
