Valais is the culinary richest region of Switzerland. From the highest peaks of the Alps through the valley of the Rhone to Lake Geneva, an incomparable variety of products grows and thrives.

Lake Geneva is rich in fish. The crystal-clear mountain streams are also full of life. And game has always been part of the menu in Valais. Well protected by the high mountains, the Rhone Valley is very warm and dry.

The privileged climate allows fruits and vegetables to ripen that are otherwise only found much further south. Not to forget the wide range of excellent wines that are traditionally vinified here. One third of Swiss wine comes from the Valais.
